I had NO IDEA how many freelance food writers there are in this town. Pretty much all of them -- 20 or more, sorry I did not take a head count -- turned out today for lunch at Five Sixty, Wolfgang Puck's new restaurant atop Reunion Tower. The man himself was there; he sat with TG. I sat with his lovely wife Gelila Assefa. She was having trouble adjusting to the quiet, because their two small sons did not make the trip to Dallas.
So how was the food? Fab. Chef Sara Johannes's menu revels in Asian influences, but the food was hearty and satisfying. Don't miss the "tiny dumpling" appetizer, filled with pork belly.
And of course there's the view (although tonight's party crowd may get more than they bargained for, with weather rolling in).
