N9NE Steakhouse at Victory Park is closed

It's official.

UPDATE: We received this statement late Thursday ...

N9NE Group Dallas regretfully announces that N9NE Steakhouse has closed after its final evening of business last night, Wednesday February 4, 2009.

It would be easy to list the many reasons a nationally recognized restaurant was not a success in Victory Park, but due to traffic and sales that did not meet our expectations, it simply did not work out. N9NE Group would like to thank our incredibly loyal staff and the best customers in Dallas who inspired many memorable nights at N9NE Steakhouse.

We will miss you.

N9NE Steakhouse will continue to operate two great locations in Chicago & Las Vegas. We hope to see you there soon.

Oh well, I have to say I won't miss it. While the food I had was great, it was ridiculously overpriced, and the atmosphere was downright cheesy. It was pretentious and thought WAY too much of itself. This is exactly the sort of thing that's dying out with this economy.

I never went there anyway, actually, I have never done anything at VP other than go to a Stars or Mavs game - but always ate someplace else that was easier to get into and less expensive.

Maybe an Applebee's or something MOST people can identify with can fill the stop - unless, of course, the issue is lack of people in the area....then well, sorry, VP is outta luck!

waahhh, one less over-priced steak house. People are being foreclosed on, come get a $60 steak (a la carte of course).

Surprised? Not hardly, Victory is NOT a destination and never will be in it's own right. Dallas officials dropped the ball by not linking Victory with the West End of downtown via a Citywalk. Until that happens we will have two "dead" zones, nice planning......

Not only high prices, but then the $8 charge to park. Unless the restaurants at Victory Park work out a way to validate parking at no charge it will be hard to attract customers to come back again or to begin with.

"glitz turned to glum"! very cute

Perot, if your reading this. One thing. Parking, Parking, Parking. Nobody likes to valet everytime they visit VP. Also W Hotel lobby bar needs proper seating, as in tables and chairs --- not uncomfortable bench seats. You can get the locals down there, but don't charge them $10 bucks to park at hotel to go in for a drink. Went in for drinks at hotel and when I got car was charged $10, last time for me. Also should have built parking garage on the west side by I35 not your prime area of the end of the Tollway. Come on your a developer. You should know this.

So sad!!!! I LOVED their food! I LOVED their wine! I LOVED their waiters. It was a great place to eat before a game or concert. Sad to hear it.

Old Man Brad said it best...

"it was ridiculously overpriced, and the atmosphere was downright cheesy. It was pretentious and thought WAY too much of itself."

You just cannot buy class. There are too many places in Dallas that fit this category. It has little to do with the cost of the fare and more to do with the atmosphere and pretenciousness that an establishment emmits. Think 30K Millionaire... It's all venere.

Not too sorry to see this one go. When I went there my steak was brought out cold. When I let them know I got the "cold shoulder your some kind of jerk" treatment. Cool space and cool bar but food not too good and very expensive. It had no chance. So a family of 4 game costs about $300, dinner at nine $250, parking etc. $50. See the problem.

Places like N9NE are snob-havens for the stereotypical Dallas "see and be seen" sycophants.

The French have an expression for these types, roughly and PC-translated as “They pass gas higher their orifice.”

I feel sorry for the waiters, busboys, kitchen and cleanup crew – but I will not shed even a crocodile tear for the investors. Good luck with their “successful” Vegas outlet – I was in Vegas 2 months ago and it isn’t any better there.

I've been in Dallas for 45 years. And, this city will never, ever be a real, "urban city". Being too geographically fragmented prevents what developers are trying, and have tried, to do.

Ahhhhh,

but you must remember the bill of sale were ssold on the whole area.

When a city gets involved then there doesnt have to be a real need
just a made up need to justify the need/want for taxpayer money to be used

dont worry, you will fall for it again

Went there one night with the wife and best friend, was told to hurry up and order before they closed! Cheesy atmosphere? How about down right comical. Told the waiter I didn't apreciate being rushed and he explained that the restaurant had already closed, so why the hell seat us in the first place? Btw, this was on a Monday night!!! They should have been happy to have customers!!!! Screw em! This place got what it deserved!!! Stick to the Vegas restaurant!!!
