Tim Love, owner of Lonesome Dove and Love Shack (and an Iron Chef America champ, too), emailed me last night to say, We could not come to terms with Victory, so we are now ACTIVELY looking for another Dallas location. I am very disappointed, but I have to make the decision based on business, not my heart. What about it, Eatsians? Can you think of a Big D site for Love Shack, some location that Tim should be looking at? Remember, it has to be a place that's family-friendly, yet allows sales of beer and wine, and also is open to the prospect of live music played al fresco. I'm thinking maybe somewhere in Deep Ellum or the O.C., both of which still own enough funk to welcome a lively open-air burger joint. E-mail entry: |

Lower Greenville is saying goodbye to the "scum bars" and welcoming family-friendly establishments with good eats and drinks.
he should contact the andres brothers or Madsion partners about their plans for Lowest Greenville and Ross. They have some great ideas and are actively looking for people to invest in their Greenspace project (across from us at The Libetine Bar) on Greenville & Bell, as well as other spaces. They really want to move out the weekend mayhem and make it the more pedestrian, family-oriented area it was intended to be.
What about where Chips was
There isn't a burger joint in knox henderson and there is a patio and they can do beer and wine and how cute would it be to be called the love shack since it is a house
plus it is thriving
Great ideas. Tim, I hope you're reading this!
I'd nix Deep Ellum, Joyce. Too close to Twisted Root. I like the Lower Greenville idea. I like the formerly-know-as-Chips idea. I know a lot of parents miss Slider& Blues (NW Hwy at Hillcrest). It begins to be "the neighborhood."
Actually, the former Chip's location was a church. It housed one of Gene Street's first restaurants, The Old Church.
Lower Greenville!
Good. I don't much care for the overpriced VP area anyway. Lower Greenville makes much more sense or poosibly West Village and maybe even Lakewood area.
Tim:
Love your Food & especially the Love Shack.
Bring your Burgers, Beer & Al Fresco Restaurant to Addison, TX. I have lived in North Dallas 10 yrs.& now going on my 17th yr. in Addison. Great restaurants & the City is very good to its Business people.
Over 170 restaurants here. Many have been here many years & still going strong. There's nothing really here we can say compares to the Love Shack. Believe me, you'd do well here. Addison's reputation & the People here & in N.Dallas will love your EATS!!
Cya soon
Uh Gerry, while I appreciate you shilling for Addison since I work nearby, there are A NUMBER of places like the Love Shack in Addision. Jake's and Moo-Ya come to mind, as well as Snuffer's and Topz, plus 5 Guys is nearby in the Galleria.
Make a case for Addison but why lie!
Lakewood needs some good burger joints.
so you don't think Love Shack is any better than a mediocre chain?
He should talk to the developers at Park Lane.
Put the Shack next to the not-too-distant Biggazz Whole Foods.
Would love to see Love Shack in Old Downtown Carrollton!
I vote for Frisco or Watters Creek in Allen. Someplace I can easily get to...
investment idea:
Put the Love Shack in some new digs down in the Cedars on Lamar St! This area is underdeveloped/cheap/densely populated/close to downtown/on the DART line/has no competition near by/will bring the lunch crowds/awesome for live music/caters to the office crowds/NEEDS A BURGER JOINT!!!!
