Plano's new independent bookstore, Legacy Books, plans its grand opening for Friday, Nov. 7 -- and the festivities will include personal appearances by a couple of notable names from the food world. On Saturday, Nov. 8, at noon: Diana Kennedy, the British-born authority on Mexican cuisine, will be at Legacy with the 2008 second edition of her classic book, The Art of Mexican Cooking. She'll be bringing along three appetizers of 30 portions each, which the Legacy staff will reheat and prepare in the store's demonstration kitchen, so that attendees can get a taste of the Kennedy recipes. At 3 p.m. that day: Fort Worth restaurateur and chef Grady Spears will promote his 2007 cookbook, The Texas Cowboy Kitchen. There will be tastes of Grady's food made available, too. For more information on the new bookstore and the grand opening schedule, see www.LegacyBooksOnline.com. CommentsE-mail entry: |
