If you prefer your latte iced on these hot afternoons, you'll love this: Starting today, Starbucks' morning customers will be offered any iced grande beverage for $2 after 2 p.m. To get the afternoon discount, customers must present the receipt from their morning Starbucks visit. The offer's good through Sept. 2. See the Associated Press story on the jump. NEW YORK (AP) -- Looking to bring more value-seeking consumers through its doors for a late afternoon caffeine fix, Starbucks Corp. said it will now offer its morning customers any iced grande beverage for $2 after 2 p.m. The price is a big cut from the normal price of most grande-sized iced drinks. A grande iced latte, for example, costs about $4. To get the discount, customers must present a receipt from their morning Starbucks visit. The promotion was previously only offered in Seattle, Chicago and Miami. The company said it is taking it nationwide beginning Tuesday to answer consumers' calls for more value at the chain, which has seen traffic drop as gas prices rise and consumer spending falters. It runs until Sept. 2. "I think we've kind of hit the nail on the head," said Brad Stevens, vice president of customer relationship management. "It's easy for baristas to implement and it's easy for customers to understand."

I just made my second starbucks run of the day. I don't know what highly addictive illegal substance they use in their iced tea, but it works!

Did my second run of the day, too...a few tips to maximize your "deal" -
-ANY purchase before 2 p.m. qualifies - mechandise, gift card purchase/reloading, cheap drinks, etc.
-ANY iced grande drink can be had for $2 - including drinks with added shots...like the quad mocha I purchased for the low low price of $2 today!

@ Sjohnson: As the previously posted blog item states, the Starbucks $2 afternoon drink offer runs through Sept. 2 -- the day after Labor Day.
