We had a wonderful meal at Bijoux on Friday evening. The amuse-bouche was a tasty bite of cucumber, goat cheese and watermelon. We all shared a bottle of Hess cabernet that was modestly priced and a good value. I ordered the pork-belly appetizer, which came with carrots and baby bok choy, and then had the optional course of smoked prawn. My husband and our two friends all chose the New York strip steak; but I've had a lot of meals with beef lately, so I had the wild salmon with polenta and loved it. Three of us also had the chocolate mousse, which was almost brownie-like yet not overly sweet, and it simply melted away in the mouth. Service was prompt, yet we never felt rushed, and we were there a good two-and-a-half hours. Our friends had not been to Bijoux before, and they said that they'll definitely be back for some future special occasion.
