OK, so this isn't local or of particular importance. But, here we go: JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- The sauce for a spicy Italian sandwich was apparently a must have for one Florida man. The man, Reginald Peterson, called 911 twice after a sandwich shop left off the sauce. More of the Associated Press story here. |

what kind of a world is HE living in? I wish all I had to worry about was if my sandwich had sauce or not!

I think this man was right to call police. In order to prevent a situation from becoming out of hand, I would also have called police. Police are to protect and serve. If I put my money on something, I want it done right. Why didn't the people take the sandwich back and make it right for him. Like any other professional establishment, what ever you put your money on, it should be correct when you receive it. I think a policeman should have responded to his call and explained to him that he shouldn't call 911 if there it isn't an emergency. I also think the police should have gone into the establishment and talked to the manager. I think this man did the right thing. Unfortunately, another united states citizen has lost their trust in their city's law enforcement.

If you look at the rest of the story, the police did come and tell him not to call 911 unless it was an emergency, to quote from the rest of the Associated Press story I linked to:
"When officers arrived, they tried to calm Peterson and explain the proper use of 911. Those efforts failed, and he was arrested on a charge of making false 911 calls."

All of Subway should be thrown in jail for totally sucking. I wish I could have made that call.
