Chick-fil-A gives away free Chick-N-Strips

At the 1600 N. Town East Blvd. store in Mesquite, we saw signs saying they'd be giving away three free Chick-N-Strips today, from 5 to 8 p.m., to any customer who walks in and asks to try them. One freebie per person, please.

The store manager tells us the three-hour promotion is going on today at Chick-fil-A's all over the Dallas-Fort Worth area. To find the location nearest you, click here.

wow, cupcakes, twinkies and chik-fil-a. This is quite the foodie town these days. I'm so glad I came back from Chicago.

AC: Si, paisan, it's definitely been Junk Food Week here on the Eats blog. We must admit: Dallas does love its bourgeois cuisine, as witness the 600 or so comments we got on "Best Burgers in DFW." But don't worry. Restaurant Week starts Monday, and we'll have far, far better things to talk about!
