The Rosewood Mansion Restaurant's Scott Barber was named Texas' Best Sommelier 2008 tonight in Austin at the Four Seasons Hotel, which has been swarmed by Master Sommeliers, Master Sommelier wannabes, wine experts and enthusiasts alike the past few days for Texsom 2008, the state sommeliers conference. The award is worth $2,500 in scholarships at the Court of Master Sommeliers. Laura Atkinson of San Antonio took second place, and two more Dallasites tied for third: Wine'tastic's D'Lynn Proctor and Pappas Bros. Steakhouse's Kim Wood.  Comments (5) Leave comment
