So, have your reservations yet? Where you going? Are you excited about some new additions to the list (hello, Fearing's)? Upset that some faves aren't participating (whaddup, Mansion)? Tell us. Then come back after your meals to let us know how it went. Last year, readers had plenty to say. |

We use RW to get our once-a-year great (and affordable!) meal at Pappas Bros. Can practically taste the filet mignon melting in my mouth...

We have vacation right after RW. So, we're only going to Fearings and Bijoux. Of course, that is unless my husband strikes it rich between now and then!
I was sad about the Mansion, too. That was going to be my 3rd if they were participating. They always did before the remodel.

I was surprised to be told this morning at 10 AM that Fearing's had been booked solid for weeks for Restaurant Week. I was told by the person that answered their phone that American Express had booked most of the restaurant. Very disappointing!

I'm with you Jami. I think it is very unprofessional of them to do that. I was really looking forward to being able to try Fearing's.

It's surprising to me that readers are saying that it's "unprofessional" for a restaurant to take reservations. I thought that is the way...
I am one of those AmEx users that had the advanced notice, but I still didn't get an "optimum" reservation. Only 5:00 and 9:00 was available on the days I wanted. So, I'll go another time when it's not the "hot" ticket.

You would Think that Fearing's would have listed for the 3 weeks till Aug 31. Since I was also told that they had booked up solid a month ahead of RW.
I was also looking foward to trying, But disapointed he had not participated for more than just the first week. Oh well, I will just go to another fine food place.

I too was disappointed that Fearing's only participated in the first week of RW.
I called 2 days ago and was told they had been booked solid for a month prior to RW. Well on to the next fine food dining.

That is odd! I just booked a reservation for Fearings on my birthday at 7pm.

I too tried to get reservations today considering they just posted the list yesterday on guidelive. In the past we could always get reservations during Restauarant week if we called within a day or so of its posting. I was shocked to hear that Fearing's has been taking reservations for 4 weeks now. Doesnt seem right. I totally understand the AMEX customer promo but I dont think that's who took up all the spots. Oh well we are bummed.

I got reservations on the second day for Fearings through open table...maybe it was just for certain days and times that they didnt have available?
Posted by Margie @ 8:06 PM Tue, Jul 15, 2008
Jeez... I called ahead of the list coming out. But, the reservationist said they would only participate Mon-Fri and only take reservations for between 5:00 and 6:30. I guess they changed their plans.
This wouldn't be such a big deal, I think, if the Mansion was participating. It was kind of a traditional thing with them and I guess I missed it.

The KRLD list was actually up Friday morning..

I have an Amex card and get advanced reservations and Fearing's is already booked for all of the week.

I have reservations for Saturday at 630 .. I believe I was given the time restrictions, but was not (obviously!) told that they were limiting RSVPs to Mon-Fri.

The slick & slimey voiced maitre'd who answered the phone at Vill-O just informed me that they will not take reservatoins for less than 6 people. So much for trying to have an intimate and affordable dinner. He did offer day of "call ahead" or walk in tables... hmmmmm...really? on restaurant week? Does teh restaruant community understnad this is how they make new, loyal customers? After my fabulous experience last year at Bijoux, I am their number one fan and tell everyone I know what a class act they are.

Please thank all of the participants who are making their RW menus available online!
Abacus, Bijoux, Craft, York Street, and others yet to be determined...
Its interesting that no one is mentioning Nana. When we were there for RW a couple of years ago, the service was so pretentious and condescending that there was no way that I would pay full price at any other time...

It is now "preview" weekend and a good number of the participating restaurants have yet to post menus. What gives here?
Posted by Shannon Sutlief @ 1:51 PM Fri, Aug 08, 2008
DSR: You'll have to ask the restaurants! We contacted every restaurant on the list by phone in early July to request their menus. We followed up later with more calls and emails. Every menu we received thus far is online. I'd love to have more, so restaurants, if you're out there, send your menus!
