Penne Pomodoro in Snider Plaza closes tomorrow for a renovation that is expected to take about 10 days. Of course, it's never a safe bet to put your money on a restaurant opening as expected. Speaking of, Royal China in Preston Royal originally scheduled to reopen at the end of June is now expected to open around July 15. |

I hope they don't make too many changes to Royal China. It is the location of the former Safari restaurant. Most of the furnishings and décor at Royal China were from the Safari and (aside from the fine Chinese cuisine) dining at Royal China brought back so many memories of Safari with the flames from the open grill, the wonderful Bombay house salad dressing (I have the original recipe) and the debonair host in the elegant turban Ike Sekhon. They just don’t make restaurants like that anymore and that is so regrettable.
