Good news for those of us in the restaurant-starved southwest corner of downtown Dallas: Cindi's New York Delicatessen, Restaurant & Bakery is opening a fifth location at 306 S. Houston St. (That's the former home of the Sakkas family's longtime Ferris Plaza restaurant, just north of Union Station and immediately behind the Hotel Lawrence.) Metro colleagues tell me: "The sign is up!" So it shouldn't be long before the courthouse crowd, Channel 8-ies and we newspaper denizens will finally have another lunch spot within easy walking distance. (When it's 95 degrees by noon, believe me, even four-tenths of a mile to the West End is not all that comfortable a walk.) E-mail entry: |
