Guy Stout better.jpgA gala dinner tonight in Washington with Gov. Rick Perry and Texas Commissioner of Agriculture Todd Staples kicks off "Texas: A celebration of Music, Food and Wine" on the National Mall. From Wednesday to Sunday and July 2 to July 6, Texas winemakers and Texas Master Sommelier Guy Stout (right) will discuss various aspects of Texas winemaking under the Texas Winemaking Tent.

The tent includes displays about how wine is made, with winemakers each afternoon discussing topics such as "Talking Terrior," "Making Wine for Texas Tastes" and " Winemaking Tradition and Innovation."

From our neighborhood, Caris Turpen with Lightcatcher Winery (Fort Worth) will be there on July 2 and July 4-5, and Justin Wiggins from Kiepersol Estates (Tyler) will be there July 3 and July 6. Stoutman will be on various panels July 3-6.
