Good honest review.
Nice to see a reporter use the word/phrase
"self-aggrandizement" and spell it correctly for once!!! Good job!

Wow! I think that's the most enthusiastic review I've ever read from Bill Addison!

Yutaka is the best sushi restaurant in D/FW - glad to see that it got another 5 star review

Rob, it's a four star review. It is a great restaurant, but there is a difference between four stars and five.

I do not understand the 3 stars given for Woodlands atmosphere, as the reviewer correctly said, it's "stunning", based on Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater-considered by many (including me) the most beautiful house in America, what does it take to get 5 stars (or just even 4)? As to the food, I have never had a bad meal there so I haven't experienced the off nights mentioned by the reviewer. Also what wasn't mentioned is how this restaurant is so perfect for bringing out of town guests, or for enjoying with many generations of the family, grandparents, kids home from college, high schoolers who appreciate good upscale American food, sharing food with family and friends, all part of the wonderful restaurant experience and found at Woodlands more than many other Dallas restaurants, since it is so accessible, and not snooty like many 4-5 star restaurants. So as you can tell I am disappointed by the 2 stars for food, and 3 stars for atmosphere. Dallas has too much of a cult of the super expensive restaurants, instead of emphasizing the special ones for everyday (somewhat upscale) people. (although I do appreciate the reviewers' emphasis from time to time on Dallas many good ethnic restaurants)

Sorry I meant to say it got yet another five star review on food not overall five star. For sushi I would rather have five star food and I don't mind a place not having the best atmosphere. Yutaka is the best sushi in town and I will continue to send people its way.

What About Nobu? Rob

Woodlands was a major dissapointment. The meat dishes were tasteless and undercooked. We were brought some stale tasting bread that was a waste of good calories. The fish (mahi mahi) was moist and well done.
