It's understandable if you don't know where Bagelstein's is these days -- its new location at the northeast corner of Preston and Royal, next to a Starbucks and across from a Borders -- is just a few weeks old and fresh on the heels of three moves. But people are finding it as my hubby, Michael Granberry, and I discovered at a pleasant Memorial Day lunch today (we scour the menu each time always to order the same things: the matzoh ball soup for me and the eggs and lox for him). On our way in, we ran into family friends who had just finished up their bar mitzvah weekend celebration with brunch at Bagelstein's for about a dozen very happy looking people. On our way out, we ran into a family that had driven 258 miles from Tulsa, Oklahoma to stock up on three dozen bagels which they planned to drive home and freeze (this is the closest they are to a good bagel store, they said, and it is well worth it). Add the time involved with the cost of gas, and that's quite a compliment to Bagelstein's bagels! The entry "Bagelstein's drawing crowds in a new location" is tagged: Bagelstein's |
