For those of you who still love Tootsie Roll Pops but are, perhaps, a little embarrassed to be caught at this age with a lollipop sticking out of your mouth -- here's a treat. The Tootsie Roll company has brought back Tootsie Pop Drops, with 16 bite-size candies in a 2.25-ounce package (retailing for about 65 cents). Each is about the diameter of a penny, three-eighths of an inch thick, and contains the classic Tootsie Roll center. As the package states, these are "Tootsie Pops Without the Stick." We are happy to report that our first package of the new candies gave up 5 or 6 of our favorite, classic Orange flavor, and only one of the weird Blue Raspberry. (Other flavors contained in each package are Chocolate, Cherry and Grape.) In a word: Yum! |

I was looking for these a year or two ago, and even went so far as to email the Tootsie folks about where I could get them!
My co-workers (most of them under 25) had never heard of them. The Tootsie Pop Drop was a favorite high school candy of mine. Glad to see they have returned--and I will be handing them out at meetings!
