Little Eden's Organic Garden Center in Balch Springs gets started in earnest with its market days, This tiny, one tent market includes JuHa Ranch chicken and combination pork-goat sausage, which is so tasty. (The goat gives it a rich, almost sweet dimension.) Eden's owner says that a farmer in from Grand Saline will be bringing buttercrunch and green romaine, white and yellow spring onions, kale, radishes and collard greens. There will also be organic eggs. In addition, Greg Whitfield of the Rain Well will give a talk about harvesting rain off your rooftop, at 10 a.m. It's free. Eden's is at 4710 Pioneer Road; 214-348-3336. (If there's something you know you want from JuHa, call Eden on Thursday and reserve it.)

Owner Marie Tedei says the market day will go on despite the fact that Eden's was hit by a tornado in the latest round of storms, which blew off her barn roof and downed several oaks. Happily, neither man nor any of Marie's many beasts were hurt.
